Last night saw the last Taekwondo training session at our temporary venue of Brimfield Village Hall. From next week we will be back to training at Ludlow Leisure Centre as long as there are no further changes to the Covid19 restrictions that are applied in the Shropshire area.
Last night we concentrated on video recording all the aspects required for each student to grade to their next belt. Due to the current need to social distance normal gradings are not possible as the examiner would need to travel from another area increasing the possibility of infectious transfer from area to area. The solution is to record the session and then share the video evidence via Dropbox with Master James Kessler, the principal instructor for Universal TKD, to then review and grade.
The students did well, but the phone battery ran out before the socially distanced set sparring was completed so we will have to complete that aspect in one of the sessions next week.
The club appreciates the support provided by Brimfield Village Hall in allowing us to train there as a temporary venue whilst Ludlow Leisure Centre has been unavailable to us.
I hope that the Covid19 restrictions over the next few months do not prevent Taekwondo from continuing to run now that we are able to move back to our normal venue in Ludlow.
